Short bio:
Tracy Gary transforms communities as a donor activist, philanthropic and legacy advisor and nonprofit entrepreneur. She has been on over 30 boards of directors and has help to start 18 nonprofits and foundations including Resourceful Women and Changemakers. Her latest adventure is Inspired Legacies, which will help to catalyze billions of dollars of the public good through linking of powerful dreamers, dreammakers and advisors. Tracy is the co-author of Inspired Philanthropy: Your Step by Step Guide to Creating a Giving Plan which is being updated for a 2007 release with new worksheets for those planning their lifetime legacies. Tracy is available for workshops, presentations, and media interviews.

Tracy Gary transforms communities as a philanthropist, donor activist, and nonprofit entrepreneur. As part of a lifetime of catalyzing people and resources, she has collaboratively started eighteen nonprofits over the last 25 years including Resourceful Women, the Women’s Foundation of San Francisco, the International Donor Dialogue Network, The Women Donors Network, Changemakers, and Inspired Legacies. She supports and educates donors, family foundations, financial service organizations, and nonprofits about the stewardship of money, leadership, legacy, and philanthropic planning through Inspired Legacies. She has served on over 30 boards of directors. Recognized nationally and globally, Tracy works as a force for justice and community building. Inspired Legacies helps concerned citizens lead the lives they want and leave a legacy of leadership, love, and care. Tracy co-authored Inspired Philanthropy: Creating a Giving Plan. Jossey-Bass will be updating it with new materials from Tracy in 2007. Tracy is available for national and international presentations, workshops, media interviews, and consultancies.

Long bio:
A donor activist and philanthropist for more than 25 years, Tracy Gary educates and supports donors, family foundations, financial service organizations and nonprofits about the stewardship of money, leadership, and philanthropy. At the heart of it, Ms. Gary discovers what is important to those she educates and supports. Then Tracy assists in resourcing and connecting dreamers and dreammakers and the advisors that can help to manifest their capacities.

Available for public speaking and private consultations, Ms. Gary works as a philanthropic and legacy advisor for a wide array of groups including American Express Financial Services; New York Life; the Institute of Noetic Sciences; regional grant making associations; private, family, and community foundations, donor networks, and grassroots community groups. Traveling all 50 states and numerous international locations, Tracy promotes service and impactful giving broadly.

She works as an active consultant to many groups, including The Global Fund for Women, Threshold Foundation, the National Network of Grantmakers, TV Free America and numerous family foundations. She contributes 100% of her net proceeds to community-based philanthropy through Changemakers and other long-time priorities in her family giving plan.

Ms. Gary graduated from Miss Porter's School. At Sarah Lawrence College, Ms. Gary earned a B.A. in Mythology.

Tracy Gary co-authored Inspired Philanthropy: Creating a Giving Plan (Berkeley: Chardon Press, September, 1998) which is now being distributed by Jossey-Bass and released its expanded second edition in August 2002 and an Ebook in February 2004. A new expanded edition, under the title of Inspired Legacies will be released in 2007.
